PVD Cleaning
Your PVD-coated wheels are crafted to deliver long-lasting durability and a brilliant, high-end finish. Like any premium investment, proper care is essential to preserve their appearance.
By following the recommended cleaning and maintenance guidelines, you’ll ensure your PVD Chrome wheels continue to turn heads and maintain their showroom-quality look for years to come.
- PVD wheels have a clear coat finish that requires some precautions during cleaning.
- Do not use any type of chrome cleaner on your wheels. Chrome cleaners contain very harsh acids that can cause the clear-coat to peel. The use of these chrome cleaners will void your warranty.
- We recommend the use of a soft cloth, soft sponge, or a micro-fiber towel for cleaning.
- We created a specially formulated Motor City Shine PVD wheel cleaner. Its pH-neutral formula removes dirt, grime and brake dust, without damaging the clear-coat.
- Always clean the wheels when they are cool and avoid any type of high pressure washing.
- It is recommended to apply a high quality wax after your wheels are cleaned to protect the finish.
- Minor scratches can be easily polished out with a good quality scratch removing compound and buffing wheel.
- We recommend Eagle One Premium Wheel Polish or Meguiar's Scratch X2.0.
